Goals​
My intention for this project was to focus on designing a technical combat experience in the Half Life 2 level design style. The layout and pacing were designed to simulate the feeling of being ambushed and trying to escape while also trying to make the gameplay feel as similar to Half Life 2 as possible.
​
Showcase textbook level design skills such as... pacing, level scripting and directing the player.
I also want to learn how to create levels within the confines of an existing franchise like Half-Life 2 to mimic how in indusrty I will need to follow an existing level design style rather than create my own.
Level Design and Building
Half Life 2 levels often provide the player with a tasks in every room to keep the player thinking and engaged.​
​Similarly Hunted flows between a unique blend of micro-puzzles, combat and scripted events which were designed to maintain engagement, keep the player thinking, and try to recreate the immersive sim elements often associated with offical Half Life 2 levels.

​Carried out one playtest session in week 10 with several playtesters and implemented this feedback over the following weeks leading up to the deadline.
